Welcome from AJ Sheppard, Lead Educator - Houston

 
Hello teachers and welcome to the Houston page! Our team is pumped up about reaching out to area high schools this year and we are excited to work with y’all on climate change, an issue that will affect us all.
 
 
As part of the burgeoning green movement in Houston, our ACE team is primed and ready to educate your students about climate change. Our free, live and dynamic assembly presentations focus on the latest climate science and address Texas science standards. Our mission is to get your students engaged and energized about going green!
 
I am a native Texan and a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso, where I earned a BA in Criminal Justice and played defensive back for the football team. I recently finished my 7th year teaching history and coaching football, basketball and track; the last two of these years were in the Houston area. In addition, I have been busy keeping up with my 16 month-old daughter and my 4 month-old son. In my down time, I love to play golf and basketball. I also mentor young men who are at a crossroads in their lives.
 
Working for ACE taps into several of my interests and strengths. As an ACE Educator, I will continue to do what I do best – teach and inspire high school students. In doing so, I hope to empower them to curtail the causes of climate change and help preserve the Earth – not only for the sake of my children, but for all generations to come.
 
The Houston ACE Team is currently booking presentations for high schools in Houston and the surrounding areas.
