Last year, after seeing the ACE Assembly, Woodstock High School's growing Action Team decided to throw a solar-powered concert at their school called -- naturally --Greenstock. However, the idea didn't gain traction until ACE educator Lonna helped them recruit more members and track down solar panels that could store energy at night. The Action Team advertised the concert and even set up the stage. In the end, eight bands played, 300+ students attended and no carbon was emitted.
This year, they did it again. The second annual Greenstock concert had a "Do One Thing" to help the environment theme and featured six bands, food from local vendors and activities such as henna tattoos, raffles and games. The Action Team is putting all of the money raised towards purchasing solar panels for the walk ways at school.
That's two years in row of star power fueled by solar power!
