David NguyenName: David Ngyyen

School: Chamblee High School

Grade: 12th

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I’ve created a multimedia presentation on a school plan to go green. I’ve also worked with and managed my school Environmental Club. Additionally, I water test and work with Trees Atlanta to plant trees around my city.

If you could have a super power what would it be and why?
I want to be able to control time. I think it would be wicked to live in the future.

Ambar AshrafName: Ambar Ashraf

School: Chamblee High School

Grade: 9th

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I have been changing the little things I do such as unplugging things when I do not need them, using public transportation, recycling, and switching off unused lights.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
If I had a superpower it would be to stop time so I could have all the time I needed to help people in bad situations.

Kayla RobinsonName: Kayla Robinson

School: Ola High School

Grade: 12th

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I like to go to thrift stores or Goodwill to find unique outfit pieces, or to create new pieces from old clothes. I also do a lot of at home DYI’s with household items.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I would want superspeed, so that I could get from place to place faster than driving. Less gas, more place!

Galen XiangName: Galen Xiang

School: Chamblee High School

Grade: 12th

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I am the President of my school’s Environmental Club and I make efforts to recycle, reduce, and reuse. I also volunteer with organizations like Trees Atlanta.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I think it’d have to be the power to heal people from injuries and sickness. Most superpowers are focused on combat or convenience, so I think a protective power would be refreshing and beneficial to others.

Antemil JorkeyName: Antemil Jorkey

School: Chamblee High School

Grade: 10th

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I have made sure lights are turned off in rooms that no one is occupying. Everyday I periodically check rooms just to make sure.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
My superpower would be to generate endless solar power from just my hands because the sun’s energy is one of the best ways to replace fossil fuels. So having such and ability would be super awesome.

Lauren SmithName: Lauren Smith

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I spoke at the EPA hearing in Atlanta, GA in July 2014 in support of the Clean Power Plan, a proposed law to cut C02 emissions in the atmosphere.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I would want the ability to fix problems with the snap of my fingers. I would want this superpower so that everything could be perfect and we wouldn’t have to worry.

Elsie GyamgiName: Elsie Peprah

Grade: Transferring Freshman

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I’ve changed minor things in my daily life like turning off the faucet while brushing my teeth, turning off lights when a room isn’t in use, and overall just being environmentally conscious.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I would want the power to convince people to act towards a change because people are unwavering in their beliefs, which makes it difficult sometimes, for reformers like us, to get our message across.

Taylan Aryee-JonesName: Taylan Aryee-Jones

School: DeKalb School of the Arts

Grade: 11th

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
I attended Powershift 2013, a climate change awareness conference. I also co-hosted a workshop at this conference to teach youth how to use media to educate others on climate change.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I would want the power to manipulate time so I can see how time changes and evolves.

What’s one thing you’ve done to fight climate change so far?
Through Arabia Mountain High School EIC (Environment as an Integrating Context) program, I have devised an action plan to improve and sustain my school’s outdoor classrooms and greenhouses.

If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I would like to have the ability to read people’s minds. This ability would enhance my social nature by giving me access to more information about people.
