Big thanks to all the teachers who submitted pictures for the ACE Teacher Photo Contest through the ACE Teacher Newsletter. Our winner for the best photo of “breakthrough” was Kiel Smith of Chicago for submitting this photo of his student, Caprecia Tredwell. While doing fieldwork with North Lawndale College Prop and the National Forest Foundation restoring Midewin National Tallgrass Prarie, this photo captured the moment when Caprecia realized that she wanted to study environmental science in college!
Following the program, Caprecia received a scholarship from the US Forest Service, the first of its kind for a student at North Lawndale College Prep.
Congrats, Kiel and Caprecia!
