On April 21st, hosted by the City of Greeley, Greeley Central High School teamed up with the University of Northern Colorado (UNC)  along with members from New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in cleaning and greening up the community. We picked up trash and raked leaves in parks, alleys, and yards. Trees were planted in a few our our parks as well. Our home base, Greeley Central High School, really needed the cleaning. We found trash dating back two years! We are pleased to say that our home is now taken care of. It was lots of fun! This was a great way to connect with the community. Not only did we help Mother Earth, but we were given the privilege to meet new people and strengthen our old relationships. We cannot wait to do this again!

As of now, we are focusing on planting some flowers on our school campus this week. We are inviting all the clubs and organizations in our school to join us in this event. We are also working on a new project called the Waste Visual. This will be our great finale for the school year. This is where we physically show students and staff the quantity of a certain object thrown away and not recycled within a specific amount of time. We are currently puncturing 1,500 water bottles and stringing them up in our main student entrance for everyone to see. This project will represent the the number of bottles thrown away in the U.S. alone within one second. We are all very excited to complete these projects!
