Every second in the U.S. 1,200 plastic water bottles are thrown away! The Greeley Green Cats got together to not only educate Greeley Central High School verbally over the amount of plastic bottles that are thrown away and not recycled, but we also showed the school visually. It was a lot of hard work and it took quite a bit of time to accomplish this project. We collected 1,200 plastic water bottles that the school recycled, punctured the bottles, strung them, and hung them. The end results though were worth it. The whole school was amazed. The reason why this had a huge affect towards students and staff was because to hear a number only gives you an idea, but to see the actual amount it gives you the whole precise picture. A visual is real. For many, it allowed them to see the amount of space they take up on Earth when it comes to waste. This project really made a difference and has made everyone think twice when using a disposable water bottle.
