What’s up New England Seniors!?
Looking for something exciting to do this summer? Want to spend your time meeting other people and building up your skills to help grow a powerful climate movement here in New England?
Yes? Great! Check out this exciting summer program from Students for a Just and Stable Future, one of ACE’s local partner organizations:
NEW ENGLAND CLIMATE SUMMER: Hop your your bike this summer and join the New England Climate Summer Team in your state!
WHAT: New England Climate Summer puts youth on the bike seat of the climate movement. This summer, teams of people will bike from town-to-town across New England for two months, connecting together student organizations, environmentalists and faith communities building a bigger, better climate movement.
WHY: Climate summer is an internship opportunity for youth 18-25 to be trained in grassroots community organizing and put that theory into practice in communities around our region.
The program begins with a week of intensive training that puts everyone on a sound footing. You’ll get housing and a food stipend too, so you’ll be covered!
HOW: This is your chance to put bricks and mortar in the foundation of the movement for a just and stable future for all. Join New England Climate Summer. Get more info and download an application at http://www.newenglandclimatesummer.org.
“Thinking back on this past semester and summer, I wouldn’t be where I am now had it not been for Mass Climate Summer… I will not pretend that I have any idea what will happen in the future, but I do know that 2009 has been the most intense, surprising, meaningful, sad, happy, and self-realizing of my life so far. Climate Summer played a large role in that.”
