Breathe California of Sacramento - Emigrant Trails

Breathe California of Sacramento – Emigrant Trails is dedicated to healthy air and preventing lung and other air-pollution related diseases by partnering with youth, advocating public policy, supporting air pollution research, and educating the public.

What YOU Can Do:

  • A.I.R. - Ask. Investigate. Resolve.   Conduct a scientific research project at your school while learning about air quality issues.  Through this scientific study (funded by the Sacramento and Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management Districts), students determine air quality at their schools and build stragegies to promote change based on their research findings.
  • Thumbs Up!  Thumbs Down!  TUTD reduces the negative influence that tobacco use in the movies has on young people.  Teen members review the top 10 movies each week and post their results on www.scenesmoking.org.  Their work is used by universities, public health officials and tobacco control advocates and is provided to key entertainment industry leaders.
  • Youth Advisory Board  Youth, ages 14-21, engage in all areas of Breathe California's work and advise the Board of Directors on all youth programs and actions that affect youth in our community.
  • Youth Leadership Summit -  This brings together high school students from across the Sacramento region to discuss and generate solutions to indoor and outdoor air quality problems in their schools and neighborhoods.  **Coming up on April 10, 2010!  Contact Anne (below) to attend!**
