WeatherizeDC

WeatherizeDC is the fiercest solution for the green economy of the future.  You’ve heard about green jobs? Here's your chance to create them!

What YOU can do:

Be fearless. Be deliberate. Be an organizer. As a High School Energy Captain you will develop your skills as an organizer to engage your parents, friends, and community in weatherizing their homes. One weatherized home removes as much carbon from our atmosphere as taking 3 cars off the road; weatherization is the first step in building a Model Green City with energy efficient homes and good green jobs for the community. You can also get involved as a volunteer on weeknights or weekends in neighborhood canvasses and phone banks.

  • Sign up to canvass local neighborhoods to spread the word about energy efficiency
  • Get trained as an organizer, using the latest, hottest techniques
  • Become a High School Energy Captain and lead your friends in creating a cleaner, greener future

Earth Day Network

Connecting 17,000 partners and organizations from 174 countries, Earth Day Network brings over 1 billion people together to celebrate Earth Day every year. Get to work with this global movement!

What YOU can do:

Earth Day Network was founded on the premise that all people, regardless of race, gender, income or geography, have a moral right to a healthy, sustainable environment. Our mission is to broaden and diversify the worldwide environmental movement, and to mobilize it as the most effective vehicle for a healthy, sustainable environment. Through a combination of education, public policy and consumer activism campaigns, we create an energized, educated population that will take action to secure a healthy future for itself and its children. More than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities in 174 countries around the world, making it the largest secular civic event in the world!
