The 10 R's by Team Marine from Green Planet on Vimeo.
Team Marine is a group of eco-minded students from Santa Monica High School who through eco-education and activism teach about the dangers of single-use plastic products. They have collected nearly 27,000 recyclables to raise money to buy and send water purifying Life Straws around the world to mitigate the effects of climate change influenced drought on some of the world's poorest people. They also built a predictive model for plastic accumulation in near-and offshore marine habitats, organized a student march through the city to promote a ban on single-use plastics, lobbied state officials in Sacramento to adopt bills that would reduce plastic marine debris and green house gas emissions and inspire students across the country with their efforts to lower their community's emissions and raise their voices!
