Dallas-Fort Worth
ACE Dallas-Fort Worth is one of ACE's newer regions bringing the ACE Assembly, Action Team and Leadership programs to as many students as possible.
A big welcome to native Dallasite and brand new Dallas-Fort Worth Educator Matt Varvir. Matt is both a theatre and physics buff and excited to join the ACE team and inspire students to take action against climate change.
Region Specific Climate info
Learn more about the specific impacts of climate change in Dallas:
- Temperature Increase: Summers in Dallas are already scorching hot. Climate scientists expect climate change to bring even hotter temperatures and more extreme heat to Texas. The average summer temperature in Dalls is predicted to increase 9-10 degrees F by the end of this century.
- Transportation Hazards: The Dalls-Fortworth Airport is one the biggest in the country. The anticipated more frequent heatwaves are expected to cause the airport runways, roads and traintracks to buckle, which would raise repair and maintenance costs. Additionally, hotter temperatures would reduce the safe carrying capacity of planes, causing more flight delays and cancellations.
